Gorgeous antique Evangeline book by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This is a Henry Altemus edition with a red, green, and gold cover with beautiful red poppies.
This epic poem follows an Acadian girl named Evangeline and her search for her lost love Gabriel. The book also includes some black and white images and a few other stories and poems at the end.
There is no date, but it was most likely published in the late 1800s/early 1900s. There is wear and discoloration to the cover, spine, and pages as well as a couple of bumps to the cover and some fraying on the spine. One of the blank intro pages is missing and a couple of the intro pages seem to be sticking together. The book measures about 6.25" x 4.25". Please note that photos may appear brighter than actual book.
