Antique 1892 The Scarlet Letter book by Nathaniel Hawthorne. This is a rare Henry Altemus edition with a green and shell colored woman cameo silhouette on the cover. Very cool and unique!
The Scarlet Letter explores guilt, revenge, and redemption in 17th century Boston (or the Puritan Massachusetts Bay Colony).
There is wear and discoloration/browning on the cover, spine, and pages due to age (it's 132 years old!). There are also a couple of pages starting to detach from the spine. The book measures about 6" x 4". Please note that photos may appear brighter than actual book.
