Rare antique edition of Harriet Beecher Stowe's book Uncle Tom's Cabin or, Life Among the Lowly. Stowe's novel became a turning point for the abolitionist movement; she brought clarity to the harsh reality of slavery in this book that inspired many to join anti-slavery movements.
This book is a stunning HM Caldwell edition with a mustard yellow, gold, green, and red design. There is no date, but it was likely published in the late 1800s/early 1900s.
There is wear/bumping and discoloration and brown spots on the cover, spine, and pages due to age. The intro pages are starting to detach from the spine. The book measures about 6.5" x 4.25" x 1.25". Please note that photos may appear brighter than actual book.
