Rare antique 1894 edition of Harriet Beecher Stowe's book Uncle Tom's Cabin or, Life Among the Lowly. This book is a lovely Henry Altemus edition with a green, dark red, and gold poppy floral cover and spine.
Stowe's novel became a turning point for the abolitionist movement; she brought clarity to the harsh reality of slavery in this book that inspired many to join anti-slavery movements.
There is wear/bumping and discoloration on the cover, spine, and pages due to age. The lettering on the spine is completely faded. There are also some page tears (example pictured). The book measures about 6.25" x 4.25" x 1". Please note that photos may appear brighter than actual book.
